Actually, they're cactus seedlings, but they sure do look like little green alien slugs.

Soybean Thief
It looks like something got into my garden yesterday. I think only six out of the 18 plants weren't nibbled on.
Garden Shots 6
Updated images of the garden. I planted soybeans, which were looking great, until something decided to eat the new leaves. I also added some flowers (marigolds and salvia) in the empty spots, between the beans and chard. That's Lottie's butt in the background of the first image.

Vacation Calendar
Just a shot of the production calendar at ICS Learning Group's office. That's me in orange. I need a vacation. :)
Wedding Prep
Here's a scary picture of me trying on the outfit I'll be wearing to my cousin's wedding on Sunday. I'm thinking about exchanging the shirt and tie for something a little more...classic.
Indoor Plumbing
This series of photos basically follows the flow of water from my foyer closet to the utility closet. For some reason, I forgot to get pictures of the holes in the garage, which are all patched up now.

Digging A Hole
So, the polybutylene water pipe in my front yard busted. The plumbers were on site @ 8am this morning and I didn't want to be there when they hit a gas pipe, so I won't have any "in progress" photos.

Sunflowers & Daisies 3
Not much new to report, other than a few more daisy sprouts poking out. I really like the dark color of the Velvet Queen sunflower.

Garden Shots 5
It looks like I have a few empty squares. Two will be filled with soybeans soon, and the others may get some colorful flowers...I'm thinking marigolds.
Sunflowers & Daisies 2
The flowers continue to reach for the sun. It looks like the little bit of rain we got has had it's way with my Velvet Queen seedlings. Now, I'm a little worried about the thunderstorms we're having while I'm at work in the office.

Sunflowers & Daisies
The sunflowers are really taking off and the daisies...FINALLY make an appearance!

Garden Shots 5
Almost all of the seeds I planted in the ground last weekend are sprouting. The bush beans are CRAZY! It's understandable why a beanstalk was chosen for Jack to climb.
All of the spinach was harvested this week. Next year, I'll plant four squares of spinach, two lettuce (more variety though), and two swiss chard (again, more variety) for my greens.
I still have three open squares, which I think I'll fill with soybeans for edamame. The tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers are going in their containers on the deck today, so I'll post pictures later.

Sprouting Seeds
It looks like all the seeds (beans and vines) that I planted last weekend are coming along pretty well.
One of the sunflowers is sprouting, too.

Lettuce Head
OK, so this is leaf lettuce (Black Seeded Simpson) and doesn't grow as a head, but it still looks pretty good.

Sprouts & Seedlings
I don't have pictures yet, but my beans (blue lake bush) and vines (honeydew & cantaloupe) are sprouting. Yay! I also filled a few pots in the yard and planted daisy and sunflower seeds. This weekend, I'll transplant all the nightshades (tomato, eggplant, and peppers) to their containers on the deck.
It looks like I'll need to plant a few more square feet of spinach next year. I go through a full foot to make sauteed spinach for two. After two meals, it's all gone, but it did make a delicious spinach, roasted red pepper, and pepperoni pizza for my girl.
I may also try some herbs and sprouts next year. They seem easy enough to grow on my kitchen windowsill or deck.

Not The Droid You're Looking For
My Droid has been acting weird since Saturday. The battery indicator was only showing a question mark and the phone stopped holding a charge. As I suspected the battery was dead, so Verizon Wireless exchanged it for free.
